Team resource share and funnel

Use metal and energy share sliders to support a carry player or pool team overflow — within game rules and good manners.

Goal

Understand Metal Share and Energy Share sliders (0–100%) so your team moves resources to the player who needs them most — without confusion or friction.

What share does

  • Each ally has separate share sliders for metal and energy.
  • Higher share sent to that ally means more of your overflow goes to them when you hit storage cap or share rules apply.
  • Share is a team tool, not griefing — communicate before changing others' plans.

Funneling (legal team play)

Funnel means deliberately sending overflow to one player:

  1. Eco player runs high mex and sets share to the carry player.
  2. Carry player keeps share lower to eco if they need to feed front units.
  3. Adjust when someone stalls on energy for air or metal for labs.

“Taking” resources — what is actually happening

Players sometimes describe high share intake or reclaiming wrecks on team maps as “taxing” allies. In BAR:

  • Share only moves overflow according to slider settings — read the in-game tooltip for your mode.
  • Reclaiming team wrecks is map-dependent; agree with allies in pub teams.
  • Do not use share changes to intentionally grief — report actual harassment separately.

Sportsmanship: Ask in team chat before large share changes. Pub teams run smoother with one sentence: “I’ll funnel metal to air, okay?”

When to funnel

  • One player has the best front position for a win condition (air, riot, t2 rush).
  • Eco player hits mex cap and has nothing to spend on but labs.
  • Energy-heavy wind maps where one player needs less e and can share.
