Goal
Same outcome as a transport drop, but you commit escort air so the transport survives enemy interceptors or light AA.
When to escort
- Opponent already has an air lab or t1 fighters.
- The drop path crosses open air space, not a hidden edge route.
- Your team has metal for transport plus gunships or fighters.
Basic steps
- Build air lab and scout the enemy air status.
- Queue transport and 2–4 escorts — gunships or fighters depending on faction and timing.
- Move escorts first or together with the transport; do not let the transport lead alone.
- Micro escorts onto enemy air that intercepts.
- Land commander and start mex or lab immediately.
Escort tips
- Fighters trade better vs enemy fighters; gunships help vs light ground AA near the landing zone.
- If escorts win the air fight but transport is low HP, land immediately — do not hover.
- Second wave of enemy air can arrive after landing — keep one fighter on patrol if possible.
Note: Escort drops cost more than naked transport drops. Only commit when you know enemy air is active.
After landing
Treat the pocket like a mini-base: mex priority, then lab, then units to harass mex or lanes. Your front player should not overextend while you spend on the drop.
